1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the ShortbliP iOS application and to the ShortbliP pages hosted at unothink.com. “ShortbliP,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the ShortbliP publisher operating through UnoThink.
2. The core social plane
Profiles, posts, media, chat history, blocks, Capsules and synchronization state are stored on participating iPhones. Nearby devices communicate directly over local peer-to-peer networking. ShortbliP application payloads are authenticated and encrypted.
ShortbliP does not require a central ShortbliP social account or a central social-graph database for the core nearby experience.
3. Nearby discovery
ShortbliP uses Bluetooth Low Energy to detect nearby participating devices. Bluetooth advertisements use rotating encounter identifiers rather than broadcasting a stable username or long-lived identity fingerprint.
A long-term re-encounter feature can allow a device that previously learned another participant’s public signing identity to recognize a locally derived encounter hint when that person is nearby again. This is an intentional local linkability feature for prior encounters. It does not use a central tracking service or upload a location history to ShortbliP.
4. Peer-to-peer networking
When nearby devices establish an authenticated relationship, social content can travel directly over local peer-to-peer networking. The app uses authenticated encrypted sessions, signed durable social objects and recipient-bound protections for private content.
5. Information stored on your device
- Your local profile and profile media.
- Posts, Moments, replies, reactions, shares and deletion/expiry records that your device creates or legitimately receives.
- Blip relationships and chat history.
- Block and safety state.
- Encounter and synchronization state needed to operate the nearby network.
- Local preferences and settings.
ShortbliP encrypts its local social database and media. Device key material is stored using iOS security facilities and is configured as device-only where applicable. The ShortbliP social-data directory is excluded from iCloud backup.
6. Location and Capsules
If you use a feature that relies on location, ShortbliP processes location on the device and reduces Capsule location to a coarse local zone for the feature. The core social plane does not upload that location to a ShortbliP location server.
7. Photos and on-device safety processing
User-selected and received media may be reviewed locally with Apple platform safety and Vision frameworks where supported. Text safety checks also run locally. ShortbliP does not upload posts, photos, OCR results or local moderation decisions to a ShortbliP moderation server for automatic analysis.
8. Reports and support are user-initiated exceptions
If you choose to report content, ShortbliP constructs a minimal report locally. It can include the evidence you selected, the reported device fingerprint, a reason, app/protocol information and an optional note. You preview the report and choose whether to send it using the system mail flow to safety@unothink.com.
Nothing is automatically uploaded as part of that report flow. If you choose to send an email, your email provider and our mailbox provider will necessarily process that email. Support messages sent to support@unothink.com work the same way.
9. Notifications and Live Activities
ShortbliP can generate local notifications for nearby and social activity. Where Live Activities are available, the app minimizes the displayed state to generic status and counts; it does not place message text, post text, precise location or cryptographic identity into the Live Activity state.
10. Tracking, advertising and analytics
The ShortbliP app does not include third-party analytics SDKs, ad SDKs, advertising identifiers or tracking domains. The app privacy manifest declares no tracking and no data types collected by the app publisher through the core application.
11. Deletion and retention
Local content remains on a device until it expires, is deleted by the user, is removed by an app workflow or the app’s local storage is removed. Deletion records can propagate to honest participating peers so they can remove corresponding content.
Support and safety emails that you voluntarily send may be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate safety issues, protect users, maintain records and meet applicable legal obligations.
12. Capture privacy
ShortbliP uses supported iOS mechanisms to redact or protect content during screen recording, mirroring and other capture states where the operating system provides that capability. iOS does not provide an app with a supported way to guarantee prevention of every one-shot hardware screenshot before it is created, and no app can prevent someone from photographing a physical display with another camera.
13. Website privacy
The public unothink.com website is separate from ShortbliP’s serverless social plane. This website contains no analytics, advertising pixels, tracking scripts or marketing cookies added by UnoThink. The infrastructure provider used to serve the static website may process standard request information such as IP address, browser/device information, requested URL and time of request for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention and security.
The website itself does not contain account registration, social content upload or a ShortbliP social database.
14. Security
ShortbliP uses platform security controls, encrypted local storage, authenticated encrypted peer sessions, signed objects, bounded network inputs and authorization checks around private content and media. No software can guarantee absolute security, especially on a compromised or jailbroken operating system.
15. Changes
We may update this policy as ShortbliP evolves, legal requirements change or the public website/deployment changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy materially changes.
